One thing I will say is don't overthink the board purchase. There are a lot of boards out there, and 90% of them will work for you. When you really break it down, it's just a piece of wood that you're using to slide down frozen water. Especially if you're a decent rider, you'll be able to ride most boards without too much of a problem. People would always come into my shop last year overthinking their decision, and when I finally got them to realize that most of the boards on the wall would work for them, they relaxed and the whole process was less stressful for them, and they were happy with the purchase.
