Whistler - Creekside year round
My better half and I are heading back to Whistler soon. We sent two months there last winter and, naturally, are dead excited about this winter.
Thing is, we're a bit confused about where we're going to live. We stayed in Creekside last year and it suited us perfectly.
The main village is too expensive and the "other" places, while serviced by the bus are just too isolated. At least Creekside still has Dusty's, a gym, liqour store, shops etc. We loved it.
We're leaning toward staying there again (cheaper than the main village, still lots of facilities and not too far from the main village and nice feel to the place) but... What's it like the rest of the year? It was perfect in winter with it's own Gondola, but once the Spring comes and the gondola closes what it like? Is it too quiet in the summer when all the biking and hiking lifts and trails are on the other side of the mountain?
Tl;dr - Creekside rocks in Winter but what's it like year round?
