yea dude. i had a disconnected edge and if it gets worse something could crack down the layers or moisture could get in if it gets to the base. either exchange or get it filled by a shop. Mine was filled with this hard epoxy to take the place of the metal gap
^ I got it at a shop, but its the last 152 they had.. I think a 148 would be to small (im 5-10, 148) but I could see what they say.
Chow, is the epoxy kind of tanish colored? There is definitely some form of filling in mine but its not smooth or flush like the edge of the board should be... the other side of my board is fully metal, and all smooth.
Your board is fine. 100% A-OK (inasmuch as that gap is concerned) That's where the edge meets itself on the board. It's much cheaper and consistent to order a spool of machined edge and roll it around the board (or perhaps extrude it on site, I don't know) than bring in a truck full of multi-shaped and multi-length edge rings rubbing agsinst each other and getting deformed in shipment. Some boardmakers take greater care than others to seal it up. My '03 Canyons have the same thing. That's nothing unusual. It doesn't matter if it's on the tip of your board, how often do you carve using the tip of your board as a contact point? That's why they leave the gap at the tip and not along the side.
Look on your other boards, I'll bet you'll find gaps on some.
^ Thats what I needed to hear.. thank you sir. it is on the tip.. right in the center, it looked like it came that way from factory, didn't look dented or knicked. you guys are a lot of help. thanks again.
