Well normally I would say that you can find the powder in the trees. I was talking about late March to April conditions, after we've been through a freeze/thaw cycle. Generally speaking when it's those windy, icy conditions, the trees are generally refrozen breakable crust and suck big time. If there has been snowfall recently, it can be quite the opposite of that too.
