Smile Help for toe to heel turning?

Hello! I'm new to these forums and also to boarding, so far I've gone up to the mountain once and I seemed to pick it up quite fast,I was doing the more difficult blue squares on my first day! Woo!

The only major problem I'm having is when I go down some of the steeper runs and riding my toe and transferring to my heel on a turn I start to catch my toe edge/ feel like I'm going to fall forward. My theory is that I"m riding too straight across the slope so the turn is ending up being more of a 180 when transferring edges. Do I just need to ride with less angled turns (i.e faster/ more straight)? On the easier runs I can bomb them and have no problem going toe to heel, but the speed sketches me out because I don't want to catch an edge going that fast...

*I ride goofy*
