Is this wrong/old news? Or is this specific board wide enough even on normal width models?
Yes,.. OLD News! I read that same shite when I first started looking for a board. I have a wide foot & 10.5 boots as well. I had to try some size 11's in the begining just to get them on my foot so the salesman convinced me I needed a wide! I don't! I did learn to ride on that wide board, but once I got a reg width board? Oh Man!!! What a difference! Quicker, more responsive edge to edge! (...if you are borderline? Sometimes the binding angles you ride will make the difference between needing a reg. or wide board.)
