I thought about a bern also, but ended up ordering a smith last week. If you wear smith goggles with smith helmets you won't have trouble with air gaps. My problem is I have two sets of giro manifest goggles. I plan on wearing a thin helmet compatible beanie if there is a gap until I can get some new smith goggles.
I did have a Smith Variant for a day but there were air gaps on my temples with both my Smith Prophecys and EG2's. And I felt like my ears were barely covered and would be another wind spot. I got a large head and face so it's tough finding that perfect fit.
