Default Visiting Steamboat and Frisco - Advice

Hey everyone,

A couple of buddies and I are going to colorado for a week. We are leaving end of next week. We're first gonna hit up steamboat for a couple of days then head down to frisco to stay the rest of the week. From there we're probably gonna hit up vail and copper.

Wanted some advice/pointers in regards to driving. Based on google maps I can only really see 2 options from Denver to Steamboat:
I-70->9->US 40
or
I-70 and get on to the 40 right around Douglas Mountain (im just basing this off gmaps)

I've heard some not so good things abt the Eishenhower tunnel so I was wondering whether the 2nd option would be a good idea if there was some issue at the tunnel? Sorry, not familiar with US freeways and highways let alone Colorado.

Also, if we're staying in Frisco, will we encounter any issues driving to Vail or Copper if the weather starts to get bad? Just want to know the common bottlenecks.

Any advice for grub in or around Steamboat and Frisco?

Thanks in advance!
