new boarder...need help picking out a board + gear

Hey all -

I'm a new snowboarder (been out there twice and enjoyed it even though I fell a lot) and just stumbled upon this forum this week. I'm 23 and from CT and used to ski when I was a lot younger and a few of my buddies were picking up snowboarding this season so I figured I'd tag along. I'm still figuring out how to stop toe side and hopefully will progress to linking some turns but that will come with practice.

Anyways, I know it's kind of late in the season for ski swaps and picking up some gear there so I'll most likely be turning to craigslist or eBay. I'm mainly looking for some equipment to get me started so that all I have to pay for is the lift ticket and maybe a lesson or two. I plan on mostly riding down the mountain and don't plan on hitting any jumps or rails.

I've done a little bit of research on my end. I'm 6'2'' and anywhere from 177-180 pounds depending on the day so I figure I'll need something 160-164 in length and I have a size 12 foot so I think I need a mid-wide or wide board (26 cm +) with XL sized bindings. Please correct me if I'm wrong as I'm still a novice.

I was looking to buy a used board/bindings as either a package deal or separately if need be. I think the boots I'll buy new. Can anyone recommend some decent boards for what I'm trying to do that will be forgiving enough for a beginner but also won't hold me back too much as I progress (and hopefully won't break my bank ) ? And also a recommendation for a decent pair of bindings as well?

Perhaps a used older (2007-2008) model Burton 62 custom? Or something comparable?

Thanks to all that offer some input. I definitely appreciate any insight you may have.
