Women's "specific" bindings - does it matter?

So, having read the NOW thread and thinking I'll be looking into those for my next set of bindings (whenever that will be), I noticed they don't make bindings that are supposed to be "womens specific". Whereas Rome and I think also Union do, as far as I know.

Question: does it even matter? They're just bindings... what's the difference? Just sizing and design/colors... or am I better off sticking with womens bindings, for functional reasons?
