Question Lacing pattern to help heel hold?

I found this while strolling the interwebz to help with some work boot issue I was having. This blog had a video on lacing. I have tried this pattern on my work boots and it is actually very comfortable

Got me thinking, could this help someone with boot issues or heel lift?? take a peek and post up if you've tried it or if it would possibly work.
Around 2:30 is the actually lacing stuff

Here's one for boot heel lock.

Again not sure this will/would work for snowboarding boots but worth a try and obviously this is for standard boot laces
