Question Should an intermediate have problems using advanced equipment?

I'm about to buy a new board, and am looking into several models. Some of them are defined as advanced or experts boards. My level is intermediate, and having at best a few days in the snow each year, I'm wondering if I should consider those boards at all at this point. Assuming all boards are meant for the same terrain, and the price difference is insignificant, will I have a harder time riding a higher quality board, or is it going to be the other way around?

The question came up when I was comparing Forum's Grudge and Symbol (both wide, for all-mountain use). A specific answer regarding those boards would be great, but a general one would be appreciated as well.
