Thumbs up Used to snowboard, ski now but want to try snowboarding again

Hi everyone. I snowboarded from approximately 2000-2007. I am thinking of getting back into snowboarding. I snowboarded for years but one day tried skiing, loved it and went head first into it. I still love skiing but am starting to miss boarding so thinking I want to do both. I rode a Never Summer 155 SL and loved it to pieces. I wasnít into the parks or pipe at all. I wasnít a speed demon but I had extreme control and loved cruising down blues and blacks just ďridingĒ the wave and having a good time.

My biggest mistake was selling my never summer so I am snowboardless these days. I am thinking of renting a board this weekend and if I like it again then I will pick up another board and hang onto it this time. I am so comfortable skiing nowadays that I am timid about snowboarding. I still remember how to do it and go through the motions in my mind and when I see someone boarding I watch and observe all the time. I am not sure if I should take a lesson or not. I really feel like I just need a few minutes with no one around so I donít embarrass myself to remember my edges and all of that and I think Iíll be ok.

Also with regard to renting a board, I am not a lightweight young lady, I am athletic and have generally found womenís boards to be too flexible for me. I like a stiffer board and have generally found more satisfaction riding menís boards. I am not sure how much technology has changed in the last few years so not sure if I should give a galís board a try when I rent this weekend or if I should just ask them for a guyís board.

I guess I am looking for words of wisdom and encouragement
