Ok guys, I figured it out. I hate waxing and scraping, but those rub on waxes are shit. I've tried lots of different ways to get around it. Even skipping the scrape completely..which doesn't work, the board is like riding velcro and after a few runs feels totally unpredictable.
This is the easiest way I've found so far. Crayon your board, use just enough wax, don't overdo it you aren't icing a cake. Do your ironing. No scraping. Take the board to your hill and head straight to the carpet lift. Strap in one foot, stand at the base, put your weight into it, and let the carpet scrape all that wax off.
Want to buff/brush your base and can't afford a rotobrush? Those old upright vacuums work great, stiff nylon bristles and it sucks up all the mess. Just adjust the height so the brushes are contacting the base, prop the board on some books and have at it.
