Unhappy K2 Protohype Rider

As much as I want to, I cannot get comfortable riding my K2 Protohype. The board is a 158. I am 6'.0 205 lbs.

I want to like this board, but when I go to press it into a carve, if I put just a little too much weight onto my front foot, it really digs in and wants to carve up hill in a hurry. Happens rather abruptly and is unnerving. I am centred on the board, riding -9 / +21.

Is it the sidecut that I don't like? Am I a bit to heavy for the 158? I picked up this board used as it has been out of production for a couple of seasons now. It's in mint shape & I wanted to experience K2's "Flatline" profile and right now as much as I am trying, I'm not enjoying the ride. Looking for some insight from the guru's. Cheers.

Get it. Wax it. Ride it.
