could you ever imagine a time when a catholic church promoted a counselling service for abused choir boys or similar such things that gave support by bringing the issue out into the open?

Not implying anything like that since I,like a few here, am a responsible gun owner. What I'm taking about is this pastor involving something that does not belong in church considering how influental the church is and how strongly it goes against abortion and homosexuality. Nutballs don't need anymore excuses to take up the cross for their moral crusade and now that a pastor brings gun into the church, that's just another tool for the holy army against the forces that tempt.
