considering that the church imposes itself upon a community, to the extent that it attempts to be the focal point of said community and a venue thru which most members would meet and socialise....

if such a place was gun toting and its pastor perceived a benefit to his congregation from implementing an initiative to promote 'responsible gun ownership', then so what?

we can consider the dubious motives behind homo-phobia (aka 'man shall not lie with man') or the opposition to abortion (aka the murder of unborn innocents) but the packing heat to say weekly prayers seems nothing, when compared to the myriad number of 'holy wars' once fought and still being fought, or that guns can be carried in some places selling booze!

storm in a tea cup keeps coming to mind, in a story which is of little to no consequence. i would be surprised if this were the first occurence of this to be honest.

Just coz you don't understand it
Doesn't mean it makes no sense!
