Not implying anything like that since I,like a few here, am a responsible gun owner. What I'm taking about is this pastor involving something that does not belong in church considering how influental the church is and how strongly it goes against abortion and homosexuality. Nutballs don't need anymore excuses to take up the cross for their moral crusade and now that a pastor brings gun into the church, that's just another tool for the holy army against the forces that tempt.
considering that the church imposes itself upon a community, to the extent that it attempts to be the focal point of said community and a venue thru which most members would meet and socialise....
if such a place was gun toting and its pastor perceived a benefit to his congregation from implementing an initiative to promote 'responsible gun ownership', then so what?
we can consider the dubious motives behind homo-phobia (aka 'man shall not lie with man'
) or the opposition to abortion (aka the murder of unborn innocents) but the packing heat to say weekly prayers seems nothing, when compared to the myriad number of 'holy wars' once fought and still being fought, or that guns can be carried in some places selling booze!

keeps coming to mind, in a story which is of little to no consequence. i would be surprised if this were the first occurence of this to be honest.
