well center fins are always removeable. Often times their is some fins on the sides that are molded or some even have screw in fins on the sides. I'm saying that not using the center one teaches how to really on your edges rather than the fins to keep you stable. When you get better you'll want to get rid of the center fin anyways, so doing it earlier just helps you with that curve. Does that make sense?
