Tuckerman Ravine - Snowboarding questions

Hi all - thinking of going back again this spring (end of April) when the spring snow is good and low avalanche danger. Need some advice.

Rode it last year (my first year snowboarding) and tomahawked down Right Gully. Not sure how far I rolled/ragdolled/etc but didn't hurt myself or hit anything (was wearing a helmet).

Went back a few days later and hiked up about halfway and rode it OK. Also went up Hillmans that second time up and went up that about halfway and rode it OK.

Still trying to get over the mental block about dropping in near the top (not over the lip, but, one of the popular gullies). Not many opportunities to ride stuff that steep to prepare for it but still want to try again.

Anybody here have any stories about riding the headwall successfully without falling and have any advice? It's almost Tux season and I want to give it another shot!!!!

(I've done a lot more days since last year (45+) and have a few days of backcountry under my belt but NOTHING as steep as Tux). I've also checked the slopes of Hillman's and Right Gully on Google Earth and am pretty confident I've done short sections that were steep.
