I'm not sure if this topic already exists, but I didn't see it in a search so I'll go ahead.
I was cruising down the Oregon coast on the 101. The top was down and the sun was pouring over my face. I dropped into 4th, put the pedal down and slid around a slow old Ford in the right lane. The wife was smiling and weaving her hand through the wind. My dog was sniffing the air, his red tongue lolling in the wind.
And it hit me that I was listening to Nirvana while possibly being very close to it myself. It was so peaceful.
Then, I got a $355 ticket for doing 80 in a 55. But before that, it was a great day.
Not sure if you ever just go out on a gorgeous day for a drive, but I'll make trips to 2 different grocery stores for bread and milk if it's a nice day out. Any excuse to take the Z out with the top down.
So I was wondering what if your favorite music to cruise to?
My current CDs have a little of everything. AFI and Muse to David Bowie and Tom Petty. I actually realized how strange it was that I was driving while listening to "The Driver Is You", a song from Quarantine, an old game in which vehicular homicide was not uncommon. The other day I paid MJ a tribute and rocked Billie Jean about as loud as I could.
I bring up driving music because I listen to something totally different at home. Typically, I'm wearing my headphones with Mozart or Bach playing. I'm a big jazz fan as well. So my driving music is particularly off the norm for me. So, favorite driving songs? Anything great for road trips?
