That's a classic West Van spot. I've skated there several times. It's fast... and I've always ridden it with spotters (ie one of the group goes in front and signals the rest on corners, or if there's any specific danger). The guys riding were pretty good, and they were both able to stop without hitting the cop's car.

The issue is... would they have been able to stop without hitting anything in a bicycle? in another car?

So what makes longboarding more dangerous "to others" than riding a bike? Had the cop done this to a bicycle and gotten filmed, he'd be arrested and possibly de-badged.

I agree people shouldn't be bombing those hills.... It is dangerous, But #1 it is NOT illegal as it's made to be seen... and #2 the cop was wrong. Period.
