Looking for a board which will ride groomers and backcountry in my local mountain, and deep pow in Japan. I'm more freestyle orientated guy who likes to skate around the mountain. I want a board which can ride switch easy, so I'm after twin or directional twin shape.
How are these boards?
- Nitro Rook
- K2 Raygun
- K2 Happy Hour
- Burton Trick Pony
ive been riding a lib tech t rice pro for 3 seasons now and its my go to board for cruising around the mountain, buttering groomers, riding trees, pow and hitting side hits. i ride it in a true twin, centred fashion and find its a fairly aggressive board for a true twin. i find it hold its own in pow upto maybe 20cm but at that point you wont find much more float from anything unless you go with a more tapered, pow specific shape.
in general:
-rides switch well
-handles ice
-great through trees
-great for freestyle and tricks
-doesnt feel too good on rails
-rides pow <20cm
not sure how it would hold up in japow but its a great all mountain resort board.
Yes PYL, Flow Drifter, K2 Turbo Dream, Trick Pony might be good but I never got to ride it on a groomer, Rome Mod Rocker, Salomon Assassin, DC Ply (yup), Rossi Angus, Jones Mtn Twin, Flow Rush, maybe a Capita BSOD but I haven't ridden the new one.
OR:
Flow Era and Darwin, Burton Parkitect and Fish, Slash Happy Place and Straight, Yes Jackpot and Jones Hovercraft, Salomon Assassin and SickStick, Capita DOA and Charlie, Rome Gangsta Plank and their pow stick, Rossi TrickStick and XV, K2 Happy Hour and Peacekeeper.
