Default Need advice about Burton custom 2008

Hello,

About me:

Height 183 cm (6"1)
Weight 92 kg about 200 pounds.
Beginner had only 6 full days (8 h a day) on snowboard, but i think I learned all basics of snowboarding.

Board: Burton custom 62 2008

Bindings:Burton Custom Snowboard Bindings Black http://www.ebay.com/itm/Burton-Custo...item2a42e89d22

Boots: Burton Freestyle Men's Snowboard Boots http://www.amazon.com/Burton-Freesty.../dp/B007KB1P6U

And now about my problem or just my worries.

I have bought Burton custom 2008, 162 cm Brand new newer used, it is my size and everything, but I read somewhere that overtime board loses its form and flexibility.
Is this applies to board that is old, but never was used?

Is this board forgiving for beginners-intermediate, or slightly wrong move will make me catch an edge?

And as i mentioned this is 2008 model and one more question would be, is the technology much better lets say in custom 2013 is it worth for me beginner try to sell it and buy new model, or i will feel no difference with my skill between 2008 and new model ?

And maybe you can comment on full setup bindings, boots, board is this a good choice for all mountain raid and learning few simple tricks.

Thank you in advance for comments.
