Libtech Travis Rice C2BTX 157cm mini review
Finally got my Libtech Travis Rice C2BTX 157cm out for the weekend.
Weigh around 178lb, 180cm tall size 10 feet.
Rode it at Naeba, Japan from Dec 19-20 and it snow quite heavily on Friday so I was able to ride some fresh powder snow. Using 07 Vans Fargo boots and 07Burton P1 Wingtip bindings Large
No overhane for bindings, just about right
Last season been riding the 08 Burton Uninc 158cm and last weekend the K2 WWW Rocker 152cm for 2 days.
When I first rode this board, the C2 feel is definitely feels much looser than what I expected (even with the cambers on the end of the board). The Trice board is the stiffest board I ever rode (was fairly comfortable landing jumps compare to the uninc). I also was able to charge down slopes quite comfortably and ride steeper slopes that usually when I'm on my Uninc. I'm also much more comfortable riding switch on the C2BTX than regular camber board due to looser feel. ollieing off this board was good. With the same amount of effort, it seems to give back more pop compared than my uninc.
This is my first time on Magnatraction and I have to say it sure works. Icy spots where I usually wash out with my Uninc is not a problem with the TRice.
The base of the board is quite durable too. I ran through some hidden rocks on the steeps but it didn't damage the base as much I would expected
Now for the cons, without the metal edge on the tip and tail, the board gets damage more easily even with little bumps. Accidentally ran into a skier yesterday and the nose edge got slice open from the sidewall down to the base (can see the wood of the board). If there was metal edge, i doubt i have this type of damage. Another thing is that the wax on the base seems to dry out faster than other boards i rode (i rode my uninc in same condition and duration before but don't seem to dry out as quick).
Overall, I'm impressed with this board. It's fast, it gives me more confidence riding more difficult and steeper terrains, and i have an easier time riding powder. It's a good upgrade for me from the 08 Uninc.
