i get to pick out a new snowboard for my birthday, so ive been doiing lots of research. the only mountain i really go to(i have a season pass) is the summit at snoqualmie. if you dont already know, its pretty small, and the only worthwhile place to spend time if your an intermediate snowboarder is the park, because every other run is easy and short. therefore, im looking for a pretty soft board that can jib and do jumps, but has a pretty good carving ability for the days i visit other mountains ( about 5-6 times a year). im really into the idea of reverse camber, and it sounds like the way to go. im about 5'4, weigh 100 lbs, and wear a size 10 boot. keep in mind that i am in the middle of a growth spurt, so i need some growing room. i plan on buying local, because im good friends with the owner of a local shop, and he can get a shipment of a board and cut me a discount. my current board is a 145W burton small. note that he is super against burton boards, so they are not really an option (he calls them "walmart boards" lol). the boards i have looked at are: the arbor draft 2010 153, the gnu park pickle 150, the salamon salvatore sanchez 150, and some capita boards. sorry for writing all this and being a bother, but any advice would be very helpful. thanks so much
How about the lib box scratcher? theres a 147 and a 152. Keep in mind that you can ride a board with btx a little smaller than you normally would. The btx adds more running length.
my buddy who is 125 and 5' 5/ 5' 6 rides the 147 no problem, even takin it in the trees in 4 feet of pow ( gotta love snow dumps at wolf creek) and said it handled pretty well.
Ive ridden it, im 145 5'5 and its perfect for me. its hands down the funnest board ive ridden. Im currently on a 2010 153 T.rice with BTX. love that board but its not really what your lookin for.
thank you for the informative reply! yeah i forgot to mention that i looked at lib techs a little bit, but they seem to be way out of my price range. how much does that board run? like 500+? ill think about it, but im mostly looking for the 400 and under range. thanks alot though
i just bought the pickle and it was $489 before tax. see how much your discount will be. i got 25% off from my friend.
ill be riding it this weekend, but from what ive heard and read its an excellent board. look into the GNU carbon credit series, they are good boards for park or all-mountain and are about $399 i think.
just read a thread and it saidthat rocker boards are for almost no jumps and camber is for some jumps. i plan i jumping quite a bit, about equal to the amount of time jibbing. is this a problem?

You have a season pass here yet you say this? I been riding Snoqualmie Pass since I was 14 and I'm 28 now. The park is not the only good place to ride here, and the runs are only short if you are not familiar with the trails and how they interconnect. Also, I don't think double blacks through trees that are filled with moguls is easy, but maybe you do. :dunno: Sorry I can't help you pick out a park board. I just know you want it to be soft and flexy. Just had to chime in here and stick up for a great, fun, and uncrowded little mountain in Washington. Oh, and, Yay for 100 posts for me!
haha no i understand. im not hating on the park, i completely love it. and trails in silverfir is pretty fun, im just saying the fun only lasts so long. thanks for the input though. see you on the mountain
i think im just going with thee arbor draft. thanks for the help anyway
