I'm with Toecutter. Locks, for the most part, only really serve as a deterrent and not a guarantee. I still always lock mine unless a friend is watching it. I bought a lock back when I went to Mountain Creek which has a reputation for people getting their stuff stolen. Once you already have one, it doesn't take up a whole lot of space and doesn't take a whole lot of time to use.
