How bad can it be with a name like Perfect North Slopes? It can't be much worse than the tiny little hills I ride in PA and you can have fun anywhere really.
PN is not bad for Indiana terrain, but the crowds are insane. I've spent 15 minutes in line there to ride for 30 seconds up the hill. It's really bad on weekdays, but weekends are hopeless.
Paoli Peaks is just about as good, but the lines are half as long. I'd recommend going there instead if it's an option.
Starting to see more Kentucky snowboarders on here, that is good thing.
Perfect north is all right....it is not a mountain though, it has a 400 vertical foot drop and it is the best place with in a two hour drive of Louisville.
I ran into PA snowboarders in Telluride...they were telling me that here hills had 1600 foot vertical drop..PN has 400 vertical drop...so perfect north is considerably smaller than the stuff in PA.
And thanks guys... but i really hope it doesn't melt.. but you never know how the weather is going to be.. it snowed today and they said it was going to be 47. :dunno:
Perfect North is nice but its so busy there.. be prepared to wait about 10-15 min probably to get on the lift.. But then again. its going to be in the upper 50s there this weekend so the snow will be starting to melt and it will be pretty slushy and might not bring out a big crowd..
This might be the first time in history anyone has ever said this, I wish I could snowboard in Indiana. I am curious to see what it is like. But I complain enough driving 2 hours to ride the tiny mountains of PA.
its not much better than paoli. its not worht the extra driving time to wait in a lift line for 15-20 mins. since youre coming from tn i say just stick with paoli.
Pnorth is kinda gay. Not because of the slopes but because of the people. Theres kids who hang out in the terrain park all day thinking their bad ass but they kinda suck. When ppl who know what their doing wanna hit the park those dbags r in the way. I just stay out of the park and have a good time on deception and all the trails off the runway. Plus, Audition is a pretty lame park IMO (no tabletops, i mean wtf)
EDIT: Oh and a lift ticket there is almost as expensive as snowshoe. LAME
