the 2009 Burton Mayhem was my first bought board, after having about 4 weeks of boarding under my belt. Not sure if it'll be wide enough for you, being 258mm. Im a size 12 boot it was just right for me. Not sure of the widths of the Custom, but 2 of my friends have Customs and they have nothing bad too say about them. Only thing, you'll have to get ICS compatible bindings, which for me, sucks!
