I rode Timberline for the first time in May and had a great time! Im thinking of taking my family there for Thanksgiving. Can anyone tell me what I can expect?
It all depends on the snow. No fresh snow in a week, crowds won't be bad. Fresh 10" dump the night before you go up, it will be crowded. It's a day area with relatively cheap passes. Everyone cherry picks the days they go up.
Where do you live? I can normally find pretty reasonable airfare to PDX on Southwest Airlines. No frills, but they don't charge you extra for checked bags, including snowboards.
Southwest is definitely the way to go - I live about 2 hours from the Dallas airport, but its always worth the drive. I love SWA! and the bag policy rocks compared to all the other airlines! Easy Easy! Im watching their prices as my family and I decide on the trip.
