I have a pair of Burton Ions and they are killing me. I think they may be too small but I am unwilling to risk another pair of them to find out.

The pain is on the top of my feet and I am trying to figure out what would cause that. They are wearable if I really loosen the bottom zone completely and they aren't too short so I'm thinking they are too shallow? Any advice on which brands might offer more room across the top?

I tried out the Salomon Factions because my friends ride them. They are super cheap and yet very comfortable but I wonder if they will be stiff enough. Any experiences?
