I don't worry about scratches that run parallel to the edges (tip to tail) - they just act more like a heavy stone grind (get rid of any little dangly hairs though).

It's the perpendicular (edge to edge) scratches that slow you down. I fill the deeper ones with p-tex, even if they aren't core shots (or you can get a base grind...hard to tell with you graphics, but your base looks pretty thrashed).
