The threads on rome screws suck

I'm talking about one of the screws that I took out to adjust the length of the heel cup. All 4 were difficult to screw back in but I managed to get 3 of them in and this fourth one was a huge pain in the ass. Unscrewing it to take it out was no problem but getting it back in was a nightmare and I'm positive I wasn't cross threading it or anything. It was pretty much impossible to get back in since you have to put pressure on the back of the sleeve with your finger. I ended up putting the sleeve in a vice to hold it in place and screwed the screw all the way in to pretty much recut the threads. Now it's much easier to screw in and out so I'm gonna try again to put it back in the binding.

edit: after doing this it screwed in easy. Quick question though, guys with a 12 boot, what heel cup setting are you using? I switched it to the biggest setting from the middle. The manual says 10-12 for middle setting, and 12+ for the biggest setting, so I guess it could go either way. However I noticed there's engravings on the actual bindings with numbers over each slot. The middle slot has 10-12.5 engraved over it and the biggest setting has 13-14.5 engraved over it. wtf
