I'd go with Crested Butte too. Give the crew at Almont Resort a call. They are about 15 minutes from the ski area. Half way in-between the towns of Gunnison and Crested Butte. They often have some sort of really good ski and stay deals each year. Generally a huge savings over staying in Crested Butte proper. Not too mention they have a bar and restaurant there. What more do you need?
