Thumbs up Snowboard Review: 2011 Emerge The Crow

Holy crap. This board is the @#$%!!!

I've been riding for 5 years now, had 3 boards before this one. The latest board I had was the GNU B-Nice, which was alright, though I felt like it was easy to "slip out" on it when doing kickers. Anyway, I was at Mountain Creek this weekend and got to demo an Emerge snowboard. Apparently they're a new company, just getting started. I was kinda skeptical at first but figured I might was well demo one of their boards, and I'm glad I did!

I demoed The Crow rocker. First of all the graphics on this baby are BADASS (you can see it here Emerge Snowboards). It rides super smooth, is NOT catchy one bit (rode in mostly packed powder), and the flex felt perfect for me...not too stiff and restricting, but not too soft/unstable. The edges hold well in ice too. It's awesome not worrying about ice anymore, I'd always be a bit nervous when I knew an ice patch was coming up, but not anymore! I took it to the park and did a few kickers and boxes, and this board performs like a frickin beast. No slipping out like on the GNU B-nice.

Honestly this board feels like one of those sweet custom boards that run you up hundreds and hundreds of dollars. I got it for 300, which is a steal! My B-Nice will be up for sale haha. For anyone who's looking for a new ride, definitely check out this company. Apparently they have both traditional camber AND rocker for all their models.

Bindings: Rome Madisons <---these bindings are awesome too
Boots: ThirtyTwo Boas
