I'm confident it can handle pow. The foot we got here the other week rode beautifully with the Proto.

As for cliff dropping, 5-8 is no biggy. I'm sure it can handle it fine. Go bigger and I'd want something stiffer under my feet. I did some in Tahoe on my mid-stiff Turbo Dream (same as you, 5-8ft) and it was smooth as a baby elephant's bottom. Well, my TD does have harsmellow though

Keep in mind, Travis Rice goes friggen huge on this board off of cliffs. On the Never Summer side, I'm inclined to think the Raptor or even Heritage is better suited to that type of big mountain riding.
