I'm looking at this: Rossignol Scan Snowboard - Kids' at REI.com for $125. I plan on buying now for his May birthday and I'll buy his boots / bindings closer to next winter.

Or I may have him lease for another year. Our Sports Authority allows you to lease complete set of used equipment for $89 for the year.
