Being from the east this concept of death is foreign to me. Can someone explain to me how that happens? I imagine it has something to do with the fact that there is a ton of snow on the ground but the tree underneath doesnt have as much and you get 'caught' in the 'well' and then snow falls on top of you from the tree and buries you?
I'm really confused. In the east we measure snow by how much ice the snowmakers can blast overnight or, how much rain turns to ice pellets.

While I dream of powder days, I do not want to encounter this if I head out west for sure!
