You're not pulling a buried corrugated pipe out of the ground....
The ones they're using are plastic, the moment you tug on it with a chain or cable is the moment it shreds.
And a metal one, no way in hell you can pick them up without a small army of people or heavy equipment. And the chances of pulling one out of the ground is slim to none also. You have to remove the soil over the top of them, that's the only way to do it and not completely damage it.
I've been in the construction industry for over 10 years, I've installed tons of them.
Do a bit of looking around at pipe supply companies and you'll find a nice plastic one. I don't have a clue how pricy they are as I didn't deal with the money, only the heavy equipment and installation.
And for gods sake, if you do try and jerk one out with a truck, put a weight on the middle of your chain so it drops to the ground when you snap it, instead of bashing out your window when it breaks.
Our local plumbing supply has this stuff for nearly half the price of Lowes. Never bought that big but I saved a couple hundred on the 8" stuff over Lowes. The 15"x 20' galvanized stuff is only 240 bucks so the plastic should be cheaper by quite a bit. The metal would be easier to work with and could be angled up and out unlike the flexy plastic stuff.
Those pipes are so much fun to butter on. One of the most fun jibs.
