Louisville is still the cheaper alternative to living in Boulder. There are some jobs there. More at Interlocken which is in Broomfield, and of course jobs in Boulder and Denver. In all, Louisville is part of the metro area and it enjoys the job market of the metro area.
Seriously, commuting from Louisville to Boulder is nothing. Most people do it by bike.
