Cat Ski Chic Chocs trip and snowmobile are both in the works. Turns out there are backcountry huts (called a "refuge" in french) in Grands Jardins only a few KMs off the highway. On the opposite side of the highway, outside of the national park, there is a large area called "Zec des Martres" (a "Zec" in Quebec similar to a Wildlife Area elsewhere - more regulated than crown land, but less regulated than a Prov/Nat park). This is a place I plan to check out as well.
Current snow depths are about 2-10cm in Parc-Laurentides & Grands-Jardins, and about 25cm on Mt.Valin.
