i found a way to make a leash for it though
if you have a board leash or something laying around you can actually take the clip mount that bolts to the housing and thread the leash in the slot
you'll have to sand down the pivot of the housing so that it will seat properly (unless your leash is flat enough that it doesnt matter)
presto - instaleash and never lose your camera again
