I'm not sure if I am ready to pack up my board for the off-season just yet, but I have a question about waxing your board before packing it away.

One of my buddies (an amazing skier) suggested I wax my board before the off-season without scrapping the wax off...leaving a thick coat of wax on the base. He said it will allow the wax to really sink in and protect the base during the offseason. Is this a good idea? Should I trust a dirty skier?

I can't see it hurting, but not sure if it will really do much. Thoughts?
