Never hit an airbag before but contemplating it just for fun this weekend. Only issue is that the kicker to the bag is 16' and looks monstrous. Way larger than I've even attempted.

For those who have done this, is it safer than it looks? What are some tips for someone who has never hit one before?

I can envision some pretty bad situations (knee to chin) and want to make sure I've thought about it before really going for it.
