I can't think of one place that does it all.
Parks in Western Canada are a joke if you have been to the US. I have not been to all the hills in BC but none have a park that is good as the ones they had in Keystone/Breck when I worked there 10 years ago!
I'm thinking you either want to be in Revi or Nelson if the town is important. Cool towns, good hills and a bit more "local" than say Banff or Whistler.
Seems to rain a bit in Fernie as well. Plus they close terrain alot due to inbound avi risk.
I would not call the town in Banff big. The bus is a pain but if you are coming for a season get a car. No matter where you want to be if you don't have a car you will find it hard to travel to the other resorts. With a car from Banff you can go to the following places for a day or a weekend.
Kicking Horse
Panorama
Fernie
Kimberley
Nakiska
Whitefish
Marmot Basin
Revelstoke
Castle
Plus the season in Banff is from November to the end of May.
Hope that helps?
