Unless it was an older full camber Malolo that was probably unnecessary. With rocker in front, a setback insert pack, and a pretty good tapered shape that board should float all on its own.

Most boards designed specifically for powder nowadays don't need any extra setback to get a surfy feel. Just get a board designed to surf pow.

As for angles its just what you're comfortable with.
