Thanks again for the responses guys! Mhaas, that's my thoughts exactly with regards to an easier way down. I'm planning on hiking a lot this summer anyway, and instead of going on the typical tourist trails in the area, I could hike up the one pass that's only about 1.5 hr from my house and then board down.

I've got my old board that I can use without worrying about dinging it up, just thinking maybe I should gram some other boots so that I don't wear out my stiff boots with all the hiking. I'm guessing light pants would keep the sun burns and snow burns away while not being too hot (I used to hike in army surplus pants all the time)?

I think it'd be a sweet way to spend a day! Grab a cold beer at the bottom after all that hard work. I'd BBQ but that'd probably attract bears.

I have to say I'm stoked for summer boarding now! Should get the legs in great shape for next year!
