While I don`t support cop killers, I do think this law protects people who fight back against police abuse. If someone is kicking my door in at 3:00 AM I am going to be shooting first and asking questions later. If it happens to be a cop, oh well. Maybe they need to go back to the way they did things in the "old days" and identify themselves as the police.
Like the majority of the TSA robot douche bags hired by our government, many police carry a badge because of the ego boost and power trip it gives them. I live in Indiana and used to know a number of small town clowns (cops) that were the same guys that got made fun of in school. I'm certainly not saying they are all bad, but like any job, there is a certain percentage of them that will abuse their power for the wrong reasons and if necessary, the public should be able to defend themselves if necessary.

One guy (cop) I knew dated the roommate of my girlfriend and couldn't fight his way out of anything. When I asked him why he wanted to be a cop, all he could come up with was something like how cool it was to carry a gun.

Another douche used to ghost clock signs with his radar gun, then pull people over to write them a ticket. If they argued, he would show them the gun.

This is the first I've heard of the law, but it doesn't bother me.
