sounds like you followed pretty much the same path as me. I was born in '81, skied when I was a kid, started snowboarding in '92 in Grade 6 lol... I had a bit of a pause in my mid 20's but have been rabid for the last 5 years or so.

Moved from Ontario to Alberta to be where the mountains are!

edit: BTW, this is my 1000th post!!! Woo hoo!!! lol
