Haven't logged on it a bit but it was nice reading all the information you guys provided! I know most places in Japan are more mellow but loads of powder. For those that have been there, what would you compare the grade of terrain to?
Only having ridden the mainland U.S., mostly Colorado I consider most intermediate runs very boring and mellow. Heck a lot of black diamond runs are mellow which is why I started hiking and riding fresh uncharted terrain. It's more of a rush not knowing how steep the terrain may get on your descent. Powder without the steepness to really get you floating and throwing loads of snow on turns is kind of boring.
