Wow. That hits pretty close to home.

My wife's uncle was the Unibomber's neighbor up in Montana while he was on assignment as a geologist when he was doing his thing. He said the guy was weird as hell and definitely a recluse, but no one really thought anything of it. You run into a lot of those types in areas like that. You generally don't live in the middle of nowhere because you're so sociable.
